O filme “Pontes de Sarajevo”, produzido pela Ukbar Filmes, foi incluído na selecção oficial do 67º Festival de Cannes 2014.

A longa-metragem “Pontes de Sarajevo” é composta por 13 curtas-metragens de realizadores europeus – o segmento português é realizado por Teresa Villaverde.

Os pequenos filmes foram produzidos e realizados para assinalar em junho de 2014 o centenário da I Guerra Mundial que muitos consideram ter sido despoletada com o assassinato do Arquiduque Francisco Fernando em Sarajevo.

Cem anos depois, “Pontes de Sarajevo” mergulha na memória. Recorrendo a imaginários de artistas de diferentes idades e olhares, incluindo, Aida Begic, que realmente viveu em Sarajevo durante o Cerco, teremos Jean-Luc Godard, Cristi Puiu, Ursula Meier, Vincenzo Marra, Marc Rechã, Sergei Loznitsa, Isild Le Besco, Leonardo Di Constanzo, Vladimir Perisic, Angela Schanelec e a portuguesa Teresa Villaverde.

À frente de “Pontes de Sarajevo” estão os produtores Ukbar Filmes em co-produção com Cineteve (França), Band a Part (Suíça), Mir Cinematográfica (Itália), Unafilms (Alemanha), Obala Art Center (Bósnia) e Waterfront Film (Bulgária) com o apoio em todos estes países, nomeadamente do ICA/MC, RTP, France 2, RAI Cinema, Trentino Film Comission, Mibac, Cineforum, TSR-RTS, MedienBord Berlin Brandenburd. As vendas internacionais já estão asseguradas pela Rezo Films.

Em Portugal foi também realizado toda a animação do filme que com a direcção criativa do desenhador belga François Shuiten (“As Cidades Obscuras”)posta em prática por um conjunto de 20 animadores portugueses liderados pelo realizador português de animação Luis da Matta Almeida.

  Teresa Villaverde’s film selected for Cannes 2014

 

The fim “Bridges of Sarajevo”, produced by “Ukbar Filmes”, has been included in the official selection of the 67^th edition of the Cannes Festival.

The full-length movie consists of 13 short films by European directors, with Teresa Villaverde directing the Portuguese segment.

The several short films were produced and directed with the purpose of celebrating the World War I Centenary (June 2014), which many consider was triggered by the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo.

A hundred years later, “Bridges of Sarajevo” reawakes memories, resorting to the imagination of artists of all ages, including Aida Begic (who lived in the city during the Siege of Sarajevo), Jean-Luc Godard, Cristi Puiu, Ursual Meier, Vincenzo Marra, Marc Rechã, Sergei Loznitsa, Isild Le Besco, Leonardo Di Constanzo, Vladimir Perisic, Angela Schanelec and finally Teresa Villarverde.

Producer “Ukbar Filmes” lead the project, which was co-produced with “Cineteve”, “Band Part”, “Mir Cinematográfica”, “Unafilms”, “Obala Art Center” and “Waterfront Film” and their respective countries, namely Portugal, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Bosnia and Bulgaria. Furthermore, they were aided by ICA/MC, RTP, France 2, RAI Cinema, Trentino Film Comission, Mibac, Cineforum, TSR-RTS and MedienBord Berlin Brandenburd.  Rezo Films is now in charge of international sales.

The animation for the feature film was also produced in Portugal under the creative direction of Belgian designer François Shuiten (“Les Cités Obscures”), carried out by a total of 20 Portuguese animators under the Luis da Matta Almeida’s guidance, a Portuguese  animation director.
