O realizador português foi premiado pela associação que reúne sete festivais europeus.
O filme A Campanha do Creoula, do realizador André Valentim Almeida, venceu o prémio Doc Alliance 2014, um galardão criado por sete festivais europeus dedicados ao documentário, foi esta segunda-feira anunciado.
A campanha do Creoula foi exibido em estreia no DocLisboa 2013, tendo recebido o Prémio Escolas de melhor longa-metragem e uma menção honrosa no Prémio Ganho do Som.
André Valentim Almeida é autor dos filmes Uma na bravo outra na ditadura, retrato da geração pós-25 de Abril de 1974, e From New York with love, um ensaio documental sobre a vivência, enquanto português, cidadão estrangeiro, em Nova Iorque.
A rede Doc Alliance integra sete festivais europeus dedicados ao documentário (incluindo o DocLisboa) que selecionam um filme candidato ao Prémio Doc Alliance.
O júri deste ano integrou os críticos de cinema Vasco Câmara (do PÚBLICO, Portugal), Hannah Pilarczyk (Alemanha), Kim Skotte (Dinamarca), Christian Jungen (Suíça), Isabelle Regnier (França), Piotr Czerkawski (Polónia) e Kamila Bohackova (Repúbllica Checa).
Em 2013, o prémio Doc Alliance foi atribuído ao filme Cativeiro, de André Gil Mata. Rodado em São João da Madeira, Cativeirocentra-se no universo da avó do realizador, uma mulher de 91 anos, que viveu sempre na mesma casa, desde que nasceu. O filme procura assimilar “a relação desta mulher com este lugar”, como se lê na apresentação da obra.

The Portuguese director was awarded by the association that assembles seven European festivals
It was announced this Monday that the film The Quest of the Schooner Creoula, by director André Valentim Almeida, won the Doc Alliance Award for 2014, an award created by seven European festivals dedicated to the documentary.
The Quest of the Schooner Creoula was premiered at the DocLisboa 2013, having received the School Award for best feature-film and a honorable mention at the Ganho do Som award.
André Valentim Almeida is the author of the Portuguese films Uma na bravo outra na ditadura, a portrait of the post-25th of April of 1974 generation, and From New York with love, a documentary essay about life, as a Portuguese, foreign citizen, in New York.
The jury of this year integrated film critics Vasco Câmara (Portugal), Hannah Pilarczyk (germany), Kim Skotte (Denmark), Christian Jungen (Switzerland), Isabelle Regnier (France), Piotr Czerkawski (Poland) and Kamila Bohackova (Czech Republic).
In 2013 the Doc Alliance Award was given to the film Cativeiro, by André Gil Mata. Shot in São João da Madeira, Cativeiro is centered in the universe of the director’s grandmother, a 91-year-old woman, which always lived in the same house, since she was born. The film tries to assimilate “the relationship between this woman and this place”, as it can be read in the presentation of the piece.
